What’s New at Against the Stream?

Today we signed a one-year lease for the Santa Monica facility. We have the place without threat of eviction until August 31, 2011. Thank you to the 29 people who chipped in to help bridge the gap. We can use more support so don't feel it's too late to help out. And, stay tuned for party info. We're gonna celebrate!

We've posted our Financial data through June 2010. The outlook is a little grim but we're determined to stay afloat and we will with your help. Check it out and see where your Against the Stream is right now. Call or write if you have any questions.

The excitement is building around here about the Auction in September and the Sit-a-Thon in October. Both of these are fundraisers to support Against the Stream, our programs and our scholarship funds.  These both offer a way for YOU to become involved. We are just about there and have approached the Santa Monica landlord about signing a long term lease. We still need a few more people to help with the extra monthly lease so click here if you'd like to help.

Qi-Gong at Against the Stream. We're thrilled to announce that we will begin a weekly Qi-Gong class starting July 27. Dror Aloni held the very successful workshop last month and he will teach a class Tuesday afternoons, 5:30-6:45, on Melrose. He will also hold a workshop in Santa Monica on July 31.  We hope to get him to do more as his schedule allows.

We're also starting a drive to raise funds so we can sign a long-term lease in Santa Monica. For info on the current situation and how you can help. please CLICK HERE.

The MBSR class originally scheduled to start June 8, has been moved back one week and the new start date is now June 15, at an off-site location.
