This morning is designed for those new to meditation or those who would like a refresher. There will be simple instructions in the practice of Insight, or Vipassana, meditation and the basic Buddhist teachings. You will have a chance to ask all your questions and we'll have some discussion. Come begin your practice of mindfulness - both on and off the cushion.

 

No registration necessary, just show up.

Mary Stancavage has practiced meditation, yoga, and cultivated a spiritual practice for over 20 years. She was trained to teach by Noah Levine and currently serves as Director of Against the Stream. She teaches regular classes both at Against the Steam and at recovery centers in Los Angeles and has co-facilitated Year-to-Live groups since 2008.  In addition, Mary has a Masters from UCLA, and has worked as an archaeologist in the Middle East.
